Class I indication
for removal of all hardware, including leads. All leading cardiac societies including the American Heart Association (AHA) recommend complete system removal, including the leads.19

Relapse rates with antibiotic treatment only are high, but recurrence drops to
0%-4.2%
with complete system removal.6-10
